Studio Floris Wubben likes to keep you informed about our new projects, designs and developments.
Studio Floris Wubben was founded in 2009 and is located in Amsterdam. Design pieces and sculptural objects made by the studio are sold in galleries and shops around the world and held in museum collections such as the Design Museum Holon (Israel), MAD (New York), Gewerbemuseum (Winterthur), Mint Museum of Craft and Design (Charlotte), Noordbrabants Museum (Den Bosch) and Museum of Arts and Design (Singapore).
The studio is renowned for its unique products at the intersection of functional and sculptural design. All pieces by Studio Floris Wubben are fabricated at the studio workshop.
In recent years, the studio has focused increasingly on the design of machines and processes. Self-designed machines form a key aspect of the creative process in the three latest projects: Pressed Project, Hammered Bowls and the Globe Project.
Floris Wubben uses low-tech machines to create serially produced unique objects. The combination of natural materials such as ceramics and the influence of the designer on the production process generate the distinctively shaped objects.
Nature is also a recurrent element in the work of Studio Floris Wubben. With minimal adjustments, Floris transforms natural elements into functional objects, such as the Stripped Lamp and the Upside Down Chair.
